Short description: The article describes the citizens attempt to defend their constitutional right to life in the Supreme Court of Russian Federation. These citizens live in Tomsk near one of the biggest nuclear-radioactive utility in the world. They lodged a complaint to the court against acts (failure to act) of Tomsk oblast administration, which violated their right to healthy environment.

Hearings began last Friday on Ecojuris Institutes` suit challenging illegal Russian government decrees that withdraw environmental safeguards from over 36,000 hectares of strictly protected "First Group" forest land.
